It’s hard to believe that we’re already talking about this fall’s color trends, but here we are!!  This year is flying by!  As you know, the fashion and accessories worlds work months in advance to create their trend-setting designs.  Although we’re just starting to heat up here, it’s time to start embracing these gorgeous colors that will soon dominate our cooler months.  I’m a fall girl through-and-through, so I’m a little obsessed with these new shades.  I love the depth and dark undertones of fall colors.  They just inherently seem cozy and make me think of cuddling under a big blanket — the perfect tones to bring on some chilly vibes in the midst of this crazy heat!!

.

While this fall’s color palette has the classic deep, cool-weather colors, it also has some unique additions.  Grenadine brings in extra warmth, Marina adds a pop of color, and Ballet Slipper gives us a soft touch.  I love the juxtaposition of these eye-catching colors next to the cool fall staples.  They make really stunning combinations when paired together.  According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, “Bookended by a dynamic Grenadine red and a tawny Autumn Maple, the color palette for Fall 2017 leans more to warmth. While comforting, enveloping colors and ease are crucial to the seasonal feeling, standout shades include a pale pink Ballet Slipper, a refreshing Golden Lime, and a bright Marina blue. These hues add a striking touch when paired with the classic autumnal shades of Navy Peony, Neutral Gray, Butterum and Tawny Port.”

Here is a spotlight on each of these stylish fall colors, as well as our pick for each color’s perfect gemstone pairing to keep you on trend:

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Grenadine Spiny Oyster Shell

Grenadine is powerful, confident and attention-grabbing!  Play up that quality with Spiny Oyster Shell, which combines both the bold color and the unique attention-grabbing nature of Grenadine.

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Tawny Port garnet-1

My #1 pick for this fall is Tawny Port!!  I’m essentially in love with it…if you need to find me I’ll be the one wearing Tawny Port.  I always loved brick red colors as a child, and Tawny Port is like brick red’s classier, more elegant and  super fashionable sister.  The perfect way to pull off Tawny Port is with the stunning elegance of Garnet!

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Ballet Slipper Strawberry Quartz

Adding a necessary calm to the fall color palette is Ballet Slipper.  It is the epitome of subtlety and softness, while also infusing a little liveliness into the normally muted fall colors.  These adorable tiny Strawberry Quartz rondelles can add that same soft but lively vibe to your jewelry designs.

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Butterum Peach Matte Agate Druzy

Meant to be reminiscent of drinking a glass of hot buttered rum by a warm fire, Butterum was admittedly a little tough for me to get on board with at first, but then I saw some beautiful images of Butterum-inspired home decor and I was sold!  I think I wanted it to be more of a neutral (with less of the burnt orange vibe), but then I realized the beauty of Butterum is that it borders that line between a neutral and a color — making it super versatile!!  Our Peach Matte Agate Druzy has that same almost-a-color-almost-a-neutral thing going on.  Try these out for an interesting new twist on your jewelry!  (Bonus Tip: Copper is also a great match for Butterum!)

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Navy Peony Dumortierite

Another one of my favorites from this fall’s line-up is Navy Peony (can you tell I lean towards the deep, rich colors??).  Do peonies come in navy…wait, who cares?!?!?  This color is beautiful!!  Dumortierite evokes the depth & stability inherent in the stunning Navy Peony.  This color is sure to be a mainstay for this fall and we’ll probably often see it used as a neutral too.

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Neutral Gray Silver Matte Agate Druzy

Bored with black??   Pantone has you covered with a new staple…Neutral Gray!  It can be a neutral accent, but be prepared to also see head-to-toe Neutral Gray this fall.  I love our Silver Matte Agate Druzy as a Neutral Gray.  (More druzy? You don’t have to twist my arm!!)

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Shaded Spruce Apatite

Shaded Spruce is so interesting!!  It is intended to remind us of the sheltering & protective nature of evergreen trees.  I love that it has a hint of teal instead of just the standard greens though.  This is definitely one to keep an eye out for this fall.  These delicious Apatites are a wonderful match for the gorgeous Shaded Spruce.

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Golden Lime Green Garnet

A refreshing addition to the fall 2017 color palette, Golden Lime is an earth tone with a twist.  This was another color that I was initially hesitant about, but then I realized that Green Garnet is a dead-ringer for Golden Lime.  I happen to love Green Garnet, so I’m officially a Golden Lime fan!!

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Marina Dyed Chalcedony

Who says beachy feels have to end when summer is over??  A fresh, bright pop of Marina will bring energy to your fall designs.  This can be somewhat of a tricky color to find in gemstones, but these Dyed Chalcedony briolettes are perfect!!

.

Pantone Fall 2017 Autumn Maple Sunstone

Another fall must-have, Autumn Maple brings warmth to our chilly months.  Vivid Sunstone, with it’s vibrant color and stunning sparkles, will help invoke that warm autumn feeling.

.

One thing I noticed this season that I haven’t thought about with previous color trends, is that even the colors I didn’t love at first I find I really like when I think about pairing them with others.  No matter what I think of them on their own, each of these colors is stunning and beautiful when paired with the right partners.  I’m so excited to play with mixing & matching these colors together to bring out their full potential.  I already know I want to pair Tawny Port/Ballet Slipper, Butterum/Navy Peony/Grenadine, and Golden Lime/Autumn Maple.

.

I love to hear from you all!!  How are you feeling about these colors?  In love??  On the fence??  What combinations are you excited to mix together?  Play around with the colors to see what unique combinations you can come up with.  Also don’t limit yourself to just two colors.  Sometimes a combination needs 3-5 (or even more) colors to be just right.  If you need more inspiration look around in nature, fashion, home decor, etc. or even search the internet for fall 2017 colors.  You’re bound to find some amazing ideas!!  We’re excited to see what you come up with!

Happy Beading!
