Christmas Lights Earring Tutorial

The holiday season is such a beautiful time of year!!  One of the most fabulous parts of Christmas time is getting to see so many festive homes all lit up with holiday decor.  Even the most mundane days become magical when you’re driving home and you get to see all the gorgeous lights.  Why leave that beauty to houses & trees when you can wear festive earrings yourself?  With our Christmas Lights Earrings all you need to do is a couple of quick wire wraps and you have adorable earrings of your own to remind you of the magical lights outside.

.

You will need:

7x5mm Czech glass teardrops (2 – We used 1 red & 1 green, but you can use any colors you’d like)

5mm Swarovski rondelles (2)

4mm Czech glass rounds (2)

Sterling silver headpins (2)

Sterling silver ear wires (2)

Round nose pliers

Needle nose pliers

Wire cutters

.

1. Stack beads onto a headpin in the following order: red teardrop, rondelle, crystal.

.

2. Use your needle nose pliers to bend the wire to a 90 degree angle, just above the beads.

.

3. Use your round nose pliers to form a loop just above the beads.

.

4. Support the loop with your needle nose pliers.

.

5. Wrap the loop closed.  Then cut off any excess wire.

.

6. Open the ring at the bottom of the ear wire and string on the wire wrapped loop.

.

7. Close the ring to finish the earring.  Repeat all steps (except use a green teardrop) for the other earring.  The finished earrings are shown below:
